One of my old-time faves for my skincare routine is skin brushing. The tingling sensation that leaves on my whole body is satisfying. It fills me with energy to keep on with the rest of my day: and knowing how to skin brush it’s easy and quick that can fit easily on your morning routine.
The benefits of skin brushing
Apart from the amazing tingling sensation on your whole body, skin brushing has some advantageous benefits for healthy skin:
- Cleans from all that dead skin. Skin regenerates itself and you wouldn’t like those deadly things clogging your pores and opaquing your beautiful and shiny new skin, right?
- Leaves your skin smooth and soft. Especially those rough areas like your knees and elbows
- Boosts your blood circulation which is beneficial for your lymphatic system. You’ll help your body get rid of waste
- And my favourite, it’s your cellulite arch-enemy! Brushing will help you to get rid of that cottage cheese appearance on your skin
What you’ll need
You can either do it with a cloth, an old towel is good for this, or with a natural bristle brush. I use both, but the bristle brush is my favourite all the way
How to skin brush
The technique consist in brushing in circular movements from extremities to your heart. Starting with your hands and feet up to your chest.
- Always brush towards the heart to boost circulation the right way. Doing it opposite will unsettle the natural flow of the blood.
- Have a constant stroke in all the body, especially is the rough areas like knees and elbows and have extra time in your thighs and buttocks to help dissolve that cellulite!
- When brushing your stomach, do it clockwise and gentle to prevent upsetting the digestive flow of your intestines.
- Be extra gentle on your breasts and don’t brush your nipples
The magic of brushing every day is visible after a few brushes, so have patience! If you start today, in three days you can see some improvement, that soft and silky skin feel!
