Calendula Bath Melts

My week started with my toddler going on a nap strike, so at midday, I was ready for a relaxing time for myself… although I have to wait until bedtime to make sure, I can relax properly! In the meantime, a great formulating activity kept us both well entertained. We made some Calendula Bath Melts!

An easy recipe for anyone who wanted to have a try. The only thing in advance is the Calendula macerated oil, which I use organic sweet almond oil and left it macerating for around 4-6 weeks in advance. Sweet almond oil is great for its low comedogenic grade, which makes it great for the skin, and the plus of calendula flowers, soothing, anti-inflammatory, regenerative. A win-win situation!

For consistency and moisturising properties, I use parts of beeswax and organic and unrefined shea butter. I know the smell of unrefined shea can be very nasty, but the proportions and later user of essential oils help with this!

Finally, for the relaxing properties, I mixed in equal parts of organic chamomile and organic lavender essential oils. Think for the next bath I’ll add together with the calendula flowers, chamomile flowers as well!

The recipe is made in percentages, so you can make the amount you wish and just add the proportion of ingredients. Ut’s easy if you start with a 100gr batch, which will be 39gr of oil, 32gr of butter… you know the gist! 😉
